Mount Ness Mount Ness () is a northernmost of the Batterbee Mountains, 1,890 m, standing 9 nautical miles (17 km) northeast of the summit of Mount Bagshawe and 14 nautical miles (26 km) inland from George VI Sound on the west coast of Palmer Land. The mountain was first seen and photographed from the air on November 23, 1935 by Lincoln Ellsworth, and was mapped from these photographs by W.L.G. Joerg. It was surveyed in 1936 by the British Graham Land Expedition (BGLE) under Rymill. Named by the United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1954 for Mrs. Patrick Ness, who contributed toward the cost of the BGLE, 1934-37.
